Cristina  Perneta

     Was born in Madeira Island, Portugal.  Living very close to nature, especially a native forest, she developed a strong heart connection with the land and trees. These memories from a young age are what drives her to create her wild landscapes.
A few years ago, she chose to create her paintings by hand with natural earth pigments, seeking new meaning in her creative process. Incorporating raw pigments, such as clays, minerals, plants, and ochres into her paintings.
In her work, she researches themes related to oneness and interconnectedness with the Land.
